From UCA: UCA wrestling team took 8th place out of about 75 teams from NC, SC, VA, WV and several other states. Most of the teams were 3A and 4A teams.

Jazmin is only in her second year of wrestling and took the title at one of the biggest tournaments for girls in the state.

December 30, 2021HOLIDAY BASKETBALL

The first Davidson/Randolph Christmas Classic wrapped up Wednesday night with Davidson County teams winning three of the four brackets.

The Central Davidson men and Randleman women won tournament championships at the Providence Grove High School sight while Thomasville's men and Oak Grove's women teams won titles at the Ledford High School sight.

December 5, 2021 – CHEERLEADER SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The state High School Cheerleading Championships took place Saturday at the Raleigh Convention Center. In addition to the competitive routines being judged, scholarships for college-bound seniors were awarded in each classification.

Avery Combs, a senior at Southwestern Randolph, was the recipient of the award among 2A cheer squads. From the press release:

Applicants must be well-rounded individuals demonstrating excellence in Cheerleading with an outstanding school spirit, community service involvement, and academics with a minimum average GPA of 3.0 throughout the student's high school career.

2A Cheerleading Scholarship Recipient – Avery Combs – Southwestern Randolph

Avery Combs has been involved with cheerleading since she was 4 years old. She credits cheerleading for personal strength and learning to lead. Avery has volunteered with middle school cheerleading programs by leading practices. She plans to attend East Carolina University in the fall.
