July 30, 2017 – By virtue of winning the American Legion State Championship last week, Randolph County Post 45 has chosen to enter the 2017 Southeast Regional baseball tournament in the spot reserved for the North Carolina champion rather than as the tournament's host team.

That means Post 45 will play their first game at 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. This year's state runner-up, Wilmington Post 10, will play in the 7:30 game on opening day at McCrary Park in Asheboro. The change does not affect any other team.

More information available in this article from The Courier-Tribune.

Updated schedule for Wednesday, August 2:

9:30 am - West Virginia vs Georgia

12:30 pm - Kentucky vs South Carolina

4:30 pm - Alabama vs Randolph County

7:30 pm - Florida vs Wilmington

July 28, 2017 – The American Legion Southeast Regional baseball tournament is less that a week away and for the fifth straight year it will be played at historic McCrary Park in Asheboro.

Randolph County Post 45 will be the host team as well as the North Carolina Champion after winning the program's fourth state title earlier this week in Winterville, NC.

Joining Post 45 will be Wilmington Post 10, the second North Carolina representative and the runner-up in the state tournament.

Other teams headed to Asheboro next week are Troy, Alabama Post 70 and Florence, SC Post 1. Both will be making their second consecutive appearance in the Southeast Regional.

The four remaining participants will be decided this weekend as state tournaments conclude in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky and West Virginia.
