October 27, 2020 – NCCSA VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENTS
Fayetteville Street Christian School will play for the 2020 NCCSA 1A Volleyball Championship after eliminating Greenville Christian Academy 25-19, 25-18, 19-25, 17-25, 15-7 in a semi-final match.
The FSCS Patriots will face Oak Level Baptist Academy (Stokesdale) for the state title on Saturday at Alamance Christian School.
The Patriots are led by NCCSA All-State player Joselyn Delaney along with All-Region selections Desta Murphy and Chloe Kidd.
According to the North Carolina Christian School Association website, there are plans to livestream the Saturday title matches on their Facebook page.
In the NCCSA 2A playoffs, Faith Christian School fell to Wilson Christian Academy 3-1 in the state semi-finals. The 2A All-State team includes Lyndsey Cassell from FCS with teammate Alexius Lynch named to the All-Region team.
The NCCSA Cross Country Championships are scheduled for Thursday at Wilson Christian Academy.
In men's soccer, Faith Christian saw Luke Langley, Shawn Cox and David Reeder recognized as members to the All-Region team.

October 16, 2020 – NCHSAA MODIFIED SPORTS GUIDELINES
The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has released a new set of guidelines for member programs to follow through the 2020-2021 athletic seasons. There are no changes to the sports schedule but the document includes information about the number of spectators allowed, health and safety requirements for teams and facilities and other important guidance for the upcoming seasons.
As has been the case since March, local restrictions must be followed if those are stricter than the NCHSAA guidelines.
Due to the changing situation with COVID-19, only the cross country, swimming and volleyball protocols have been finalized. Expect changes and additions as the start date approaches for other sports.
IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE NCHSAA: This is a 'live' document. Users of this document need to understand that a printed copy could be outdated. Individuals are encouraged to check this page frequently when referring to this manual, so the up-to-date version is being used.

Some highlights:
GENERAL
* A maximum of 25 spectators at all indoor facilities with designated seating areas.
* Outdoor facilities are limited to 100 spectators or 30 percent of the stated fire capacity, whichever is smaller.
* New protocols for screening, exposure, positive tests and resumption of activities for participants.
* If a team cannot compete because of COVID-19 related circumstances (verified by the NCHSAA), a missed contest which cannot be rescheduled will be designated as “no contest.”
* One weather-related postponement may be played in a week and not count against the limitation for that week.
* Pre- and post-game activities must meet social distancing guidelines.
CROSS COUNTRY (Regular Season)
* Two schools competing: maximum 14 runners per school
* Three schools competing: maximum 9 runners per school
* Four schools competing (max): maximum 7 runners per school
* Several options for race starts and finishes as recommended by the National Federation of High School Sports including: 1) Spaced Mass Start (minimum 6' distance between teams), 2) Wave Start by Team Positions (#1s, #2s, #3s, etc.), Wave Start by Team (minimum 30 seconds between teams).
* Cloth face masks are permitted during competition and required when not actively competing.
* Each student is responsible for their own supplies (hand sanitizer, water bottle, towels, etc).
SWIMMING
* In-person Dual Meets will be limited to participating athletes plus one alternate swimmer per relay.
* In-person Tri-Meets will be limited to maximum 30 boys and 30 girls participants.
* Individual competitors must wait for last swimmer to finish the event then swim to the turn end of the pool to exit.
* Relay competitors; first three swimmers exit and leave the starting area, final swimmer wait and exit at the turn end.
* When not competing, team personnel restricted to the team area.
* “Virtual Meets” are allowed this season where two teams compete in their “home” pools and compare times for each event.
VOLLEYBALL
* A change in pre-game meetings and activities.
* No switching benches between sets unless officials determine that there is a clear and distinct advantage.
* Limitations for team bench areas and scorers table to permit social distancing.
* Cloth face masks are permitted during competition and required when not actively competing.
* Each student is responsible for their own supplies (hand sanitizer, water bottle, towels, etc).
