April 30, 2026 - ALUMNI NEWS
Two Randolph County alumni and current Pfeiffer University softball players have been named USA South
All-Conference players for the 2026 season. Molly Bulla (UCA '24) was named to the First Team all-conference and Ky Perdue
(SWR '23) to the second team.
Bulla is hitting .394 for the Falcons heading into today's opening round of the USA South Conference
Tournament. She has hit 4 home runs and leads the Falcons with 13 doubles. Bulla also has a 12-4 pitching record and a 2.36 ERA.
Perdue is a .345 hitter with a .954 fielding percentage at shortstop with 73 assists and 72 putouts in
152 chances. She was also named All-Conference in 2025.
Top seeded Pfeiffer (17-1, 32-8) will face the #8 seed Salem Spirits at 10:00 this morning to open Bracket
1 play in the USA South Tournament in Misenheimer.

BASEBALL
Randleman 15, Ledford 0
The Tigers scored in each of the six innings they batted, pulling away to the final score with 6 runs in
the top of the sixth. The win earned Randleman a share of the PAC 7 Championship finishing tied with Central
Davidson with an 11-1 conference record.
Jackson Hill (double, triple, 3 rbi, 2 runs) and Carter Heath (2 rbi, 2 runs) had 3 hits each. Tate Andrews
(3 rbi) had 2 hits and there were single hits by Jake Riddle (rbi, 2 runs), Ashton Poe (rbi, 3 runs), Lincoln
Lawson (double, 2 runs), John Kirkpatrick (rbi, 2 runs) and Gavin Vanover (run).
Riddle was the winning pitcher and gave up the only hit with 7 strikeouts in five innings. Andrews struck out
all the batters he faced in the sixth inning.
BASEBALL - Conference Tournament Finals
#3 West Davidson 13, #1 Trinity 4
West trailed 2-0 before a 6-run fourth inning turned the game around.
Five Bulldogs had 1 hit each: Peyton Williams with a solo home run (rbi, 2 runs), Walker Parrish (run),
Grayson Fauber (rbi), Indiana Hill (rbi) and Cohen Wolfe (rbi).
Lincoln Coble took the loss giving up 7 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks with 3 strikeouts in 4.1 innings. Fauber
(1 IP, 4 runs, 2 hits, 2 walks) and Cameron Hill (1.2 IP, 2 runs (1 er), 2 hits, 2 walks, 1 strikeout) followed on the mound.
SOFTBALL
Randleman 8, Central Davidson 6 (8 innings)
The game was tied 3-3 after four innings and 6-6 after seven before Ella Rogers drove in Kadie Green and Addyson
Dees in the top of the eighth inning. The win finished off an undefeated conference championship for Randleman.
Rogers had 3 hits and drove in 3 runs. There were 2 hits each by Green (2 runs), Dees (2 doubles, 3 rbi, 2 runs),
Kaylee Phillips (double, 2 rbi), Elsie Prince (double, and Kinzie Ivey. Single hits by Lilah Covington and Olivia Ashby (run).
Ivey pitched seven innings and got the win allowing 6 runs on 9 hits and 2 walks with 7 strikeouts. Rogers
pitched the eighth inning with 2 strikeouts.

Bryson Arrington was the second of 3 pitchers used and suffered the loss.

Kinzie Ivey was the winning pitcher allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 5 walks with 5 strikeouts in seven innings.

The Eagles out-hit the Chargers with Emory Johnson (double, run) and Aly Hussey both recording 2 hits and
single hits by Paityn Williams (double), Tori Dixon, Meghan Peters (rbi), Gracie Smith, Jayla Hurley and Reece Thompson.
Williams started in the circle and took the loss giving up 5 runs on 2 hits and 5 walks with a strikeout. Tori Dixon pitched
a third of an inning and Mylee Kittleson pitched the final three innings with 3 unearned runs on 3 hits and a walk with 2 strikeouts.
UCA left 11 runners on base in seven innings.

#3 Eastern Randolph 7, #6 North Moore 4
The Wildcats used 4 hits to take advantage of 4 errors and 6 walks for the come-from-behind win.
Isaiah Batchelor (rbi, run), Chance Holdaway (rbi, run), Avery Wright (rbi) and Carlos Cordero provided
the hits with other runs driven in by Bryson Marley, Maddox Dunn and Cooper Smith.
Dunn was the winning pitcher in relief of starter Landon Albright. Dunn walked 1 batter and struck out 6 in
three scoreless innings. Cade McCallum pitched the sixth inning and Chance Holdaway the seventh where the Mustangs got their only hit.
#4 SW Randolph 9, #5 Jordan-Matthews 1
Both teams committed 1 error and turned 2 double-plays with 10 hits for the Jets and 12 for the Cougars.
Among the Cougar hits however, were 6 doubles which drove in 4 runs, a triple and a 3-run home run.
Lucas Connor was 3-for-3 with the home run and a total of 4 rbi. Brady Armfield had 3 hits with 2 doubles
and a triple and 2 rbi. Grant Kirk hit 2 doubles and scored twice. Single hits by Carson Coltrane (run), Elijah Sykes (rbi),
Lane Poole (rbi, run) and Carson Williams.
Matthew Blankenship pitched six innings for the win allowing just 1 runs on 10 hits and 2 walks with 8
strikeouts. Armfield faced 3 batters in the seventh and struck out two.

Wheatmore outhit the Dragons and led on the scoreboard 8-0 in the middle of the second inning before West started their comeback.
Nathan Oxendine homered and doubled with 2 rbi and 2 runs scored. Greyson Atkinson had 2 hits with a run
and Hunter Goddard 2 hits with a triple. The Warriors got single hits by Lukas Usterbowski (run), Christian Tuttle (rbi, run), Gavin
McPherson (rbi) and Shannon McCauley (rbi).
McPherson, Bentley Mills and Grayson Carter shared time on the mound. Carter took the loss giving up 1 run

while Emma Gower recorded an rbi-triple and Scarlet Cross a 2-rbi double. Hemric went 2-for-2 and totaled 3 runs driven in.

April 25, 2026 - COLLEGE COMITTMENTS
Megan Becker, from Uwharrie Charter Academy, has signed with UNC-Wilmington to continue her academic and swimming careers. A 2026
state champion in 100 meter freestyle, Becker has reached the medalist podium eight times in her high school career. She will be swimming for the
UNC-W Seahawks in the Coastal Athletic Association.
Wheatmore senior Dominic Hittepole has committed to the Citadel to continue his academic and wrestling career. Hittepole capped his
four appearances in the Individual Championship Tournament with state championships in 2025 and 2026.
The Citadel Bulldogs are members of the Southern Conference.

BASEBALL
Trinity 5, Wheatmore 0
The Wheatmore defense turned double-plays in each of the first three innings as the teams went
scoreless until the seventh when Trinity took advantage of a pair of walks and recorded 3 of their
7 hits, including a bases-clearing double by Nick Soles, to pick up the road win.
Soles and Indiana Hill (double) had 2 hits each. Single hits by Brody Little (run), Cohen Wolfe (run)
and Mason Carter (rbi, run).
Peyton Williams gave up 1 hit with 8 strikeouts in six innings and Cameron Hill struck out 2 batters in an inning of relief.
Hunter Goddard had the Wheatmore hit and Greyson Atkinson took the complete game loss.
Southern Guilford 2, Asheboro 1
The Storm struck twice in the top of the seventh innings for the road win.
Shane Immel had 2 hits for Asheboro and scored the only run. Reid Suddeth had a hit and an rbi and Connor
Steele recorded a double.
Price Kidd took the loss giving up 2 runs (1 er) on 7 hits with 11 strikeouts in 6.1 innings. Gavin Allen

The Blue Comets managed 2 hits with a triple and a run scored by Cora Little and a single and an rbi by
Claire Younts. Makayla Cook took the loss.

The Wildcats out-hit the Jets led by Hailey Ritter (2 rbi) and Shelby Williams (triple, rbi) with 2 hits
each. There were single hits by Adie Beck (double, run), London Hardin (run), Brooklyn Jones and Kaydence Swaney.

Julia Nelson hit a 2-run home run for a first inning Eagles lead but Northwood tied the game in the third and
plated the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh for the win.
Nelson had 3 hits with the homer, a double and a single. Emory Johnson (run) and Tori Dixon (double) had
2 hits each. Jayla Hurley added a single. Mykee Kittleson gave up 5 hits and 2 walks in the loss. She struck out 5 batters.

Game 2 saw 7 Tigers with multi-hit games led by Tate Andrews (2 doubles, 3 rbi) and Titan Burgess (double, 4 rbi)
with 3 hits each. There were 2 hits by Jake Riddle (triple), Gavin Vanover (2 rbi), John Kirkpatrick (double, 3 rbi),
Brody Pierce (3 rbi) and Ricky Romano (double, 2 rbi).

Seven runs in the top of the seventh allowed Southwestern Randolph to stretch out their lead.
Grant Kirk had 3 hits with a double and a home run. Brady Armfield had 2 hits with a double and a home run. There were
single hits by Carson Williams (rbi, 2 runs), Carson Coltrane (2 rbi, run) and Elijah Sykes (run).
Sykes pitched 5.1 innings and got the win with 3 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks with 10 strikeouts. Lane Poole
struck out 3 against 1 hit and 3 walks in 1.2 innings of relief.

Kyndall Snipes hit a solo home run and Shellee Culler had 2 hits with a triple and scored a run for
Asheboro. Claire Younts (run), Lydia Scearce (rbi, run) and Madison Hicks (3 runs) all had a hit. Mykala
Cook pitched five innings and took the loss.
Randleman 16, High Point Central 1
The Tigers pounded out 12 hits led by Lyric Chriscoe and Elsie Prince who were both 3-for-3 at the plate.
Chriscoe had a double and a triple with 5 rbi and 3 runs scored. Prince hit a triple with 5 rbi and 2 runs
scored. Other multi-hit batters were Kadie Green (triple, rbi, 3 runs) and Natalie Roach (double, rbi, 2 runs).

Jerquarius Stanback (AHS '24) has migrated west via the NCAA transfer portal. The 6-9 forward has
left Alabama State University after two seasons and will be playing for the Boise State University Broncos.
After a redshirt season (2024-25), Stanback started every game this past season and was named thw SWAC
Defensive Player of the Year. He will join the Broncos in the Mountain West Conference in the fall.

April 14, 2026 - SPRING SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIPS
The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has announced the dates and locations for state championships in spring sports.
Championships begin with individual Mens Tennis on May 8-9 followed by team tennis on May 15 & 16.
Mens Golf championships will be determined on May 11-12 and Outdoor Track & Field from May 13-16.
Baseball and Softball championship series will be held May 27-30 and Womens Soccer May 28-30.
Specific venues for some classifications will be determined closer to the championship dates
but the options are included in the announcement.

Providence Grove 11, Wheatmore 1
Chase Collins was the winning pitcher giving up 1 run on 2 hits and a walk while striking out 11 batters in five innings.
Andrew Thomas had 3 hits for PG including 2 doubles, an rbi and 2 runs scored. There were single hits by Conner Haithcock
(triple), Collins (2 rbi), Jacob Flinchum (rbi), Grant Underwood (double, 2 runs) and Will Dabbs (2 rbi).
Lukas Usterbowski (run) and Bentley Mills had hits for Wheatmore. Gavin McPherson took the loss.
Eastern Randolph 10, North Moore 0
Bryson Marley was perfect on the mound in the five-inning game. Marley faced 15 batters and struck out seven.
Seven Wildcats produced 8 runs led by Cade McCallum 2-hit night driving in 1 and scoring 2 runs. Miles Cox had a double and
scored a run. Carlos Cordero produced 3 runs with a sacrifice fly and a 2-rbi single. Avery Wright also had a 2-rbi single.

Daniel Jaimes had 3 hits for Asheboro, including a double, scored a run and drove in 4 others. Gabriel Jaimes also had a

Northwood scored 2 runs in the top of the seventh inning and held on for the win.

Ryan Spencer's 100th coaching victory kept his Bulldogs a perfect 7-0 atop the Central Carolina Conference standings.
Brody Little had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in 2 runs in the top of the seventh inning for the come-from-behind win.
Peyton Williams had 2 hits; Mason Carter a hit; and Cohen Wolfe and Walker Parrish both had hits and both scored on Little's seventh-inning double.

Kami Dunn and Jada Freeland were both 3-for-3 at the plate. Trailing 2-0, Freeland started the Cougar comeback with a hit to
the outfield which ultimately allowed C Eudy to score on and error in the fourth inning. In the fifth, Kami Dunn hit a 3-run home run driving
in Nauttica Parrish and Bristol Marine for a 4-2 lead.
Katelyn West pitched the seven-inning win.
High Point Christian got home runs from Allie Winfree (2 rbi) and Kerri Langfitt (solo). Blakely Bowman had 2 hits and finished
the 3-day event going 9-for-10 at the plate.

Union Pines led from the first inning but Providence Grove plated 8 runs in the sixth and four in the seventh for the win.
Chase Collins had 3 hits with a double, 3 rbi and a run scored. Jacob Flinchum (double, 3 rbi) and Bishop Moore (run) had 2
hits each. Single hits by Andrew Thomas (triple, rbi, 2 runs), Caden Waugh (double, rbi, run) and Grant Underwood (double, rbi, 2 runs).
Thomas pitched six innings for the win. Bryson Arrington faced 3 batters in the seventh.

The Tigers scored 5 runs in the top of the seventh inning for the come-from-behind win.
There were 2 hits each by Jake Riddle (double, 3 runs), Kyle Dillow (triple, 3 rbi, run), Jackson Hill

Greyson Atkinson had 2 hits for the Warriors. There were single hits by Hunter Goddard (rbi) and Gavin McPherson.
Five pitchers spent time on the mound trying to slow down the Timberwolves offense.
Parker Phillips had 2 hits, both doubles, driving in 4 runs and scoring twice for Spring Valley.

The Cougars never got on track offensively with a double by Lucas Connor and singles by Brady
Armfield and Owen Allmon. Logan Weidman pitched 4.1 innings and took the loss.
Paxton Piccini led the way for Southeast going 4-for-4 with a double, a triple and 2 runs scored.
Piccini also struck out 7 batters in the complete game win.
Westchester Country Day 2, Asheboro 1
Asheboro scored in the third when Reid Suddeth drove in Shane Immel with a single. Westchester tied the game
in the fifth with an rbi triple by Ashton Pittman which scored Ricky Velez. Then a run by Sawyer Pugh with 1 out
in the bottom of the seventh inning resulted in the walk-off win by WCDS.
Immel had 2 hits for the Blue Comets including a double. Suddeth's hit and a single by Price Kidd were the
other Asheboro hits. Daniel Jaimes took the loss.

Blakely Bowman went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored to lead the HPCA Cougars' 14-hit game.

The highlight for North Stanly was a triple-play in the third inning with HPCA runners on first and second. Comets shortstop Sammie
Lowder snagged a line drive, threw to Lainey Bowers to double off the runner at second and Bowers relayed the ball to Emma Sanders for the third out at first base.

Lillie Taylor (rbi) and Dixon (2 rbi, run).
Ellie White and Lily Jacobs had hits for the Sauras.

Ruby Caudle hit a 2-run home run to tie the game in the fourth inning and Cailyn York put the Patriots ahead 5-3 with a 2-run shot in the fifth inning.
Campbell Ziemba went seven innings for the win giving up 4 runs (3 er) on 8 hits and 2 walks with 9 strikeouts.
Leah Isenhour had 3 hits for the comets with a double, rbi and a run scored. Two hits each by Lainey Bowerd (double, rbi) and Sammie Lowder (double,
rbi, run). Hayden Hicks pitched seven innings and took the loss.

Katelyn West had 3 hits – a double and 2 home runs - for the Cougars, driving in 3 runs and scoring two. Kami Dunn had 2 hits with a triple and a
home run, driving in 4 and scoring twice.
Along with West, there were doubles by Maddie Strider (2), Alyssa Harris, Bristol Marine and Sara-Kate Marion.
Chloe Eudy pitched the first five innings before giving way to Maylee Strider who got the win in two innings of relief.
Kaylee Phillips singled, tripled and homered for Randleman producing 4 rbi and 3 runs scored. Addyson Dees went 3-for-3 and scored 3 runs and Kinzie Ivey had 2 doubles and 3 rbi.
Dees was the second of 3 pitchers and took the loss.

The Patriots scored 3 in the first inning with 6 more in the fourth and 1 in the sixth.
The winning pitcher was Chase Collins who gave up 2 hits and a walk with 9 strikeouts in five innings
before giving way to Bryson Arrington.
Collins also had 3 hits with a double, 2 rbi and 2 runs scored. There were 2 hits by Andrew Thomas (rbi, 2
runs) and Colin Duvall (2 rbi). Single hits by Jacob Flinchum (rbi, 2 runs), Grant Underwood (double, run), Bishop

An 8-run third inning set up Pinecrest for the win.

CSD broke a 1-1 tie with 7 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Eli Brake gave up 9 hits but only 1 run in earning the win,
Walker Parrish singled and scored on a 2-out hit by Dylan Hunt in the top of the fourth inning. Nick Soles
had 3 hits with single hits by Brody Little, Cameron Hill, Grayson Fauber and Cohen Wolfe. Peyton Williams took the loss.

Wake County Home Ed 8, Western Alamance 1
Wake County Homeschool started hot with 3 runs, 2 runs and 1 run in the first three innings aided by home
runs by Hampton Hawley (1 runner on) and Jack Conley (solo). Seth Pennica and Zachary Peacock contributed triples in the 9-hit attack.
Western got 2 hits by Frederick Harrelson, Jr, a double by Dawson Boysel with a run scored, Weston Greene drove
in a run and Mason Buzzard delivered a single.
Western Alamance 13, Winston-Salem Christian 0
A 10-run second inning put Western Forsyth in front to stay.
Nine players had hits for the Warriors led by Frederick Harrelson, Jr (double, 2 rbi, 2 runs) and Weston
Greene (rbi, run). Also with doubles were Dawson Boysei, Gaven Davis and Hayden Wheeler. Davis pitched four of the shut-out innings
walking 4 and striking out 4 batters.
Brett Bullins had the only hit, a double, for Winston-Salem Christian.
Spring Valley HS (WV) 1, Southeast Alamance 0
Jake Vanarsdale gave up 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7 in the complete game win for the
Timberwolves from Huntington, WV.
Vanarsdale and Brody Spencer both had 2 hits with doubles while Parker Phillips doubled and scored on a hit
by Cam Perdue for the only run.
The Stallions got single hits from Aidan Amick, Auden Brown and Brayden Robbins. Brown pitched 5.2 innings and took the loss.

Makayla McClain (PG '22) tied the Appalachian State softball record with her 17th home run of the season on March 29th and
broke that record Thursday leading off the first inning when the Mountaineers played at Marshall University.
McClain's 18th home run broke the previous record originally set in 2009. There are 14 games left on the ASU regular season schedule.

2 walks with 7 strikeouts. Grayson Fauber gave up one inning in the final inning.
Williams (2 home runs, 3 rbi, 3 runs) and Walker Parrish (rbi, 2 runs) had 3 hits each. There were 2 hits
by Indiana Hill (home run, rbi, run), Cameron Hill (run), Fauber (double, 3 rbi) and Brody Little.

In a pitchers dual which saw 3 total runs and 5 total hits, Maddox Dunn came up on the short end and took
the complete game loss. Dunn gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks with 9 strikeouts.
The 2 Wildcat hits included a pair of Levi Stalker doubles and a single by Bryson Marley.
Southern Alamance 3, Asheboro 2
Asheboro scored 1 in the bottom of the seventh but the game ended with the tying runner still at third base.

Thirteen hits by Asheboro were all singles with Shellee Culler going 3-for-4 with an rbi and a run
scored. Cora Little had 2 hits and drove in 5 runs while scoring 3 times. Also with 2 hits were Kayla Basulto (2 rbi,
4 runs), Kyndall Snipes (rbi, 4 runs) and Kloe Woody (3 rbi, run). Single hits by Madison Hicks (2 runs) and Claire Younts.
Mykala Cook pitched five innings for the win. Cora Little pitched the seventh.
